So--are you shocked and amazed??!!
I'm still alive--yes--I am!
I've moved, started a new job--and the loverly adventure does not seem to be over yet--but who knows what that means at this point!
Anyway--I, unfortunately, have had absolutely NO time to work on more adapted lessons. BUT--I have had time to make a "network" connection with probably my only follower on this blog (as well as some others)--so--
I will try to find time to work on them more soon!!! AND to post the ones I promised months ago!!!
BUT--here's an AWESOME link to a blog that has some GREAT Quiet Books and other items (Primary Theme Posters, etc) that she allows readers to download for free! My friend said that she just downloaded the Quiet Book pages, sent them to Cosco for printing and binding (I think binding), and there you go!
BUT--I thought they could be so useful for more than just Quiet Books!! Check them out--tell me what you think!
http://www.simplyfreshdesigns.com/page/2/
I"m linking you straight to the quiet books--BUT there is a ton of WONDERFUL free stuff throughout the webpage!
Anyway--I will try to do better!!! And get the lessons I promised months ago up soon!
This site is dedicated to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints who are friends of people with disabilities and is for the sharing of needs, ideas, and information in order to include all members of the Church.

P.S. As a reminder
P.S. As a reminder---one of the reasons why I've purchased the DVD's and would dare to call them "Primary" on DVD is because my nephew, at times, could be considered "home bound" because of his rare lung disease. Avoiding the germs (which unfortunately, kids grow) is very important.
So--he's in need of Gospel teaching, but is unable to always "attend" Church like other kids.
I think it was in July 2010 Ensign there was a good article in the Ensign about being "Homebound and Active" (I think it was July--may have been June--sorry--it's late. Not looking it up).
Anyway--as much as I still wish more emphasis was place in the article on the Ward and Branch members making more of an independent effort (i.e. offering the Sacrament to those whom are homebound without being asked first), the article is really good, and may give a better picture on some of what families like my nephew's deal with.
Anyway--sorry to be opinionated. I try to avoid that on this blog. But...such is life.

Have not forgotten....
Okay--
I have not forgotten this blog--I promise. I've just been incredibly busy finishing my P H D. That book I've had to write is long and kind of complicated. But--I'm almost through (I hope and pray) and on to the next--which I'm really excited about.
So--hope to update soon! First to fix the back ground (what is up with "The Cutest" lately? Hello! Really annoying to just lose the background of your blog)--and then to add the Sunbeams/Nursery adaptations I've completed.
BUT--I have something awesome to put on this blog. Something I've found:
I purchased one of these for my nieces and nephew. http://www.fhedvd.com/ Thus far--(we only have 1 DVD--but have plans to purchase more in the future) have been AWESOME!!!
Perfect--yes for FHE--but even more--it's like "Primary" on the TV!!! The videos are cute, use the scriptures very accurately (from what I've been able to tell thus far).
I'm pretty darn picky about stuff like this--usually only suggest things the church produces--but thus far these DVD's have been heaven sent.
Oh--the best part--the kids LIKE them. They'll sit the whole hour and watch them all. They have these cute cartoon characters that display the value or Gospel principle being taught in a cute, funny away that keeps their interest.
Seriously--like Veggie Tales with the Book of Mormon (and no vegetables--and I like Veggie Tales--so don't get me wrong).
Oh--also--I actually broke down and purchased some of the Book of Mormon action figures. I was unsure about these--but bought them for my nephew who is "all boy". First the "Elders" (missionaries) are just awesome (the little one steals them from him and carries them around in her kid purse. It's hilarious!) Second--using them for lessons--when telling Book of Mormon stories to him SOOO helped him care and want to pay attention.
Third--he likes them. So--they're worth it to!!!!
So--thank you for reading. Will update soon! I guess all I can say is, I've actually broken down some of my own barriers (the DVD's and action figures) and found them helpful. I am the type of special education teacher who feels that I'll "get" it (most) anything if it will help a kid learn. And, as much as I want to ensure that the majority of what is used to teach the Gospel is from and endorsed from the Church--sometimes kids need more than the Church makes. SO--breaking some boundaries.
BUT--I'm still pretty careful--that's all I can say :)
Those DVD's ROCK!!!

CTR B
Hi! I've now uploaded all of the CTR B lessons I've modified!!!! I'm trying to give each age level it's own wiki page to try to make things more organized. So, the first lesson (lesson 1) you have to go to the "main" wiki page--the rest are on their own pages (or will be). Hope to get Sunbeams A and Nursery up soon!
Enjoy!

Also hope to adapt beyond 5 lessons soon too!

Posted 2 more
Okay
Posted 2 more Primary lessons. They're both adapted from the LDS Church's new Nursery/Sunbeams Manual, which is the best, in my opinion. One is for Sunbeams, the second is really simplified, for Nursery. Again, focused for homebound kiddos who need Primary too---but can be utilized for any kiddos who need adapted Primary stuff.
Also--totally not trying to "break" copyright. Thus, all pictures/blacklines in these come straight from the LDS manual. Giving credit where credit is due!
Enjoy!

P.S. Creating a ton more--but they won't be posted for a while--as I have to get them done for my nieces and nephew who need them first!

What I'm currently working on....
So, I'm currently working on this project. It's an adaptation of the Primary Manuals.
Granted--right now I'm starting with just 1---the 2nd CTR manual.
But, I see such things being used both by kiddo's with disabilities who need something simplified, by their teachers and parents,
And hopefully by kiddo's who are "homebound" and maybe aren't able currently to go to Primary at Church.
Most of the things included in this are straight from the Primary manual (i.e the scriptures, the song is from the Hymnal, the questions). The stories and pictures are from old Family Home Evening Manuals (those things are very useful!!!), and I will likely get stuff from the Friend website as well. I did use some clip art from this website:
http://lds.about.com/library/gallery/clipart/blb.htm
I'm trying to stick with blacklines mainly, but may expand if needed.
Granted, I don't want anyone to look at these and think: Gee, that will make-up for Primary, so why go? Cause that's so not the point!!! The point is to make Primary as accessible as possible for all kiddo's!!!! But, if any of this can come in handy for a Primary teacher who needs accommodations or modifications, so much the better!
Oh, I also used this website to access the Hymnal and Primary Song Books on line. That' is just awesome that they're all there already!!!!

Okay--so to access the PDF of the first lesson of this accommodated Primary book click on the following link:
